This statement sets out the privacy policy for CREATECOM
Pty Ltd and all subsidiary and/or related Companies as defined
in the Companies Code or Corporations Law for their respective
rights and interests.
From 21 December, 2001, the Federal Privacy Commissioner
implemented National Privacy Principles (NPPs) [Privacy Act
1988] to regulate the collection, retention and use of personal
information in the private sector, which includes companies
within CREATECOM and relative partner organisations.
CREATECOM is conscious of the importance of maintaining
the confidentiality of our clients' personal information.
What is classified as personal
information?
Name, date of birth, current address, previous addresses,
telephone numbers, e-mail address, occupation, drivers license
number, credit reference reporting, bank account details, credit
card details, logon identification numbers, pin numbers,
passwords, security codes.
The manner and purpose of the collection of personal
information.
CREATECOM has various ways in which we collect
information, including:
Information provided through the completion of
application/registration forms for products/services we provide;
Information you enter on our web site;
From third parties such as related companies; credit reporting
agencies;
Directly from you via phone/e-mail/letters;
From our existing records on how you use our services;
From publicly available sources of information (eg phone
directories)
Direct Marketing Companies.
How do we use and disclose your personal
information?
We assure you we only collect personal information that is
necessary for us to carry out the various functions and
activities we undertake for the benefit of our clients. We take
all possible steps to ensure that client information is not
disclosed or accessed by unauthorised parties.
Where information disclosure is necessary to fulfil our
business commitments to you we may disclose information to
persons involved in administering the services, our related
entities and business partners.
Sensitive information is only disclosed when it relates to
serious injury, death, or law under Commonwealth Government
legislation.
When does CREATECOM use and disclose
your personal information?
When providing the products/services you request;
To conduct credit-worthiness checks through credit reporting
agencies;
For possible fraud investigations;
For cross marketing by informing you of other services available
to you within CREATECOM's products;
For the distribution of newsletters/flyers;
To provide upgrades/maintenance to our products/services;
To government and regulatory authorities and other
organisations, as required or authorised by law;
For the purpose of financing products supplied by CREATECOM.
CREATECOM contracts out some services that involve
Contractors marketing our products and services. All personal
information that is provided is used solely for the purpose of
marketing the group's products within CREATECOM.
Outsourcing of our client database is not practised within the
group.
Consent for use in advising of products and services
Currently your contact details are used from time to time to
advise you of new products or services, which you may be
interested in. These products/services relate to companies
within the CREATECOM Group.
From 21 December 2001, you are able to withhold your consent
to the use of new contact details (that you provide to us) for
this purpose. Therefore if you do not consent to such use,
please advise us accordingly by advising the privacy officer.
If we are not advised in this regard, we will assume that you
consent to the use of your contact details for this purpose.
